annoying!!　Useless!!! Not recognize Apache log file I do not know the existence value

Wate of money.

I’ve bought this app, cause i want to have one application to view my apache, php und application logs. I tried two hours to get my php logs to work, but the extractor is not usable for me. I found no documentation. Also it’s not possible to delete an imported stream. It seems like there is some basic features missing. For this money i would expect somethig else.

I got this app because I was tired of looking at log files through the terminal. Unfortunately, it didn’t help. It couldn’t open PHP log files and it’s slow. In fact, it’s only got a few format log files that it supports.

Its a nice app. Log analysis is quite flexible. Unfortunately, there is no drag n drop support for logfiles, so its not very usable for sysadmins with rapid workfows.

I purchased LogDiver and had an issue with filtering and another with crashing. Contacted the developer and he was able to resolve them quickly. Very pleased with the updated version (1.1.2). All issues were resolved and it works great!

This application failed at the first hurdle. It wont look at my (custom) log files: LogDiver cannot open files in the “Log File” format.

You’d think that a log viewer would have the ability to open log files?! It appears that this app will open open Apache Web Server logs and nothing else, as there are no file handlers for basic .log format - making it a waste of $7.99.

The prior review was not an accurate review. The reviewer obviously didnt understand how to configure custom handlers. I almost didnt spent the $9.99 because of that review. That would have been a mistake. LogDiver is a very good app. It allows you to define the log format using regular expressions so this is very flexible. The handler configuration program detects how many regex groups you have and then allows you to map the regex groups to columns. It provides a predefined list of columns that match most of the columns you need to plus it allows custom columns. The program allows you to import multiple files that match the handler so if you have a rolling log you can import mylog.1, mylog.2, mylog.3 and mylog.log all at the same time and LogDiver will show what files were imported and the start and stop time of each time. It aggregates these results together and then allows you to filter the lines based on your criteria. I commonly use this program to filter on threads so I can see what is occuring in the context of one thread. LogDiver also allows you to easily filter on time by using a vertical slider where the top slider represents the start of time and the bottom slider represents the end of time to display in the view window. The program takes some time to parse the files and load them into columns but once it is loaded, it is pretty fast adding filters and scrolling. You can also save the import and filters into a file so you can easily reload the same data. While the program is very useful, I would like to see an addition of line highlighting based on a regular expression. Ideally you can have multiple expressions associated with a different color. Also, the help could be more complete. But for $9.99, you cant go wrong with this app!

I was skeptical buying this today, but I’m glad I did. It did a great job helping me filter my Apache logs, finding anomalies, sorting my results, etc. It was quite speedy on my file with half a million log entries. I’d like to see some better graphing capabilities in the future, if you’re looking for suggestions.

I expected more than I got. App does not work with system logs as it should.

On the plus side, love the configurable import and the ability to go through multiple logs in one view. Couple important missing features: 1. When clicking on a log line, show the corresponding log file it’s coming from 2. When a log line is selected in filtered view, unfiltering should keep that line in view and selected. This is critical for filtering to be useful — want to see the filtered line in context! Eagerly waiting for an update!
